Applications - Lab Equipment
23.07.2010For vacuum measurement within applications pumped by rotary vane pumps, the new VSP 3000 has a chemical and mechanical robustness which is unequalled by conventional Pirani sensors. Thanks to its ceramic protective covering of the metal wire and a splash-watertight plastic housing the sensor is an extremely reliable fine vacuum gauge, which is easy to use and offers high life expectancy. The application includes measurement of fine to rough vacuum as well as regulation within this range.
more23.07.2010Mercury has been in use since the Classical Antiquity and is very widespread today owing to its mobility. Still today, enormous quantities of the toxic element are being emitted into the environment by human beings, especially in combustion reactions. Mercury bioaccumulates in the food chain and primarily organic compounds (for example methyl mercury) accumulate in fatty tissue and hence reach the food chain.
more23.07.2010Apart from aspects strictly involving metrological specifications, preparing for and performing a weighing procedure and meeting the relevant regulatory standards are gaining ever-increasing importance. For this reason, the time and effort spent on secondary steps need to be reduced as much as possible. Sartorius has turned these requirements into a real solution: the Cubis premium balance is the dawn of a new era in the laboratory.
