Now in its second year the EMBO Meeting 2010, taking place in Barcelona, 4-7 September 2010, is once again featuring an impressive line up of leading scientific speakers, including two Nobel Laureates. The meeting exposes attendees to the latest life science both inside and outside of their immediate research focus, providing new impulses and ideas for research collaborations and projects.

Prof. Gisou van der Goot (EPFL): "I have recommended The EMBO Meeting to my lab members. Especially to PhD students, who are towards the end of their PhDs and are wondering what field to choose for their post-doc research. The EMBO Meeting gives them the opportunity to hear outstanding speakers on a great variety of topics."

Innovation Forums and Sponsor Symposia offer research institutes, start-ups and established companies an opportunity to present their latest research program and product innovations to the 1500 expected participants at this conference. Over 40 companies and societies will engage with participants at the 3-day long exhibition.

Barcelona, this year's conference location, is undoubtedly captivating as a city that pulses with life, a city where the past sits proudly with a contemporary life that is continually changing. As such, Barcelona and the Catalan region make the perfect home for centers of research excellence. There are 400 research groups in life sciences, 12 universities with 32,000 life science students, networks of science parks, plus 5.5 researchers per 1000 inhabitants and a research budget amounting to 1.44% of GDP. Participants will have the opportunity to visit some research centers based in the Barcelona area.

Join EMBO in Barcelona to hear from eminent speakers, network with established and emerging life scientists, and find out about the latest industry innovations.
