SC180 Camera – Making 4K Microscopy the New Standard
To stimulate audience engagement during presentations and facilitate precise sample documentation, Olympus has recently launched the 18-megapixel SC180 camera. With unprecedented detail, especially at low magnifications, the SC180 is easy to use and cost-effective, making 4K Microscopy accessible to more users than ever before.
4K Microscopy enables users to get the same level of detail on the screen as through the oculars and show true-to-life structures and colors. Olympus’ fast 18-megapixel SC180 camera with a 4K UHD live image uses the full optical resolution of the microscope and produces clear, crisp images at all magnifications. This makes it easier to engage audiences in large-screen presentations while also increasing throughput in tissue documentation and in the creation of detailed images for publication.
To improve throughput and productivity, the SC180 comes with several features that help to speed up routine imaging. With Focus Peaking users can see exactly which areas of a specimen are in focus and get the desired image with the first click. Fast Live ensures comfortable, fluid navigation regardless of the illumination conditions by maintaining a high frame rate when the user moves the specimen.
The SC180 camera also features fully automated, real-time image processing features, such as Olympus Smart Image Averaging (OSIA) that reduce noise for crisp, clean images. Additionally, real-time color profiling with automated white point calibration ensures natural-looking colors for reliable images. These features, combined with the 4K UHD live image, make the SC180 a user-friendly and cost-effective solution that provides detailed, publication-ready images at every magnification.
