Salt-tolerant Membrane Adsorbers

Sartorius Stedim Biotech introduced Sartobind Stic PA (primary amine). Polishing in antibody production is usually performed on quaternary ammonium (Q) membranes in flow-through mode, since the overall speed and productivity are much higher than on traditional anion-exchange columns. However, the binding capacity of Q ligands is reduced at higher conductivities, so concentrated feed streams must be diluted to adequately remove contaminants such as DNA, host cell proteins, viruses and endotoxins. more

Illustra Exostar Kit for Enzymatic PCR and Sequencing Clean-up

The Illustra Exostar kit for enzymatic PCR and sequencing clean-up was launched by GE Healthcare. It supports researchers by providing a high performance and cost effective product for the enzymatic removal of unincorporated primers and nucleotides from PCR and sequencing reactions. The kit enables efficient primer digestion with no degradation of target PCR products, allowing almost 100% yield of the desired PCR products. more

Electronic Micropipette - Acura Electro

Socorex has introduced the electronic micropipette Acura electro. Extended range includes seven micro models (0.1 to 1,000 µL), three macropipettes (0.1 - 10 mL) and eight multichannel instruments (0.1 to 350 µL). Intuitive control software avoids any complicated programming steps. There are only four keys for quick access to Forward - Reverse - Stepper - Dilute - Tactile and Mixing working modes. The Tactile mode simplifies gel loading and makes titration possible using a micropipette. Working ergonomics and hand comfort lead to very good pipetting results. more

Flow Cytometry Immune Monitoring

Beckman Coulter now offers Streptamer technology, providing a novel method for the isolation and characterization of functional antigen-specific T-cells by fluorescence-activated or magnet-assisted cell sorting. Streptamer technology, manufactured by IBA, includes Ag-specific multimers available in a number of human alleles and mouse models and attached to either magnetic beads or fluorescently labeled Strep-Tactin. more

World Precision Instruments Launches Cell Tester

World Precision Instruments announced the launch of the new Cell Tester, a novel cell biology research tool, set to revolutionize the emerging field of ‘mechano transduction' by allowing researchers to study the influence of mechanical force, stress or strain on cells and how these cells react to stimuli. The resulting data will help answer fundamental questions such as how do individual muscle cells sense stress and stretch? more

Efficient Targeted Integration into Mouse Rosa26 Locus with Zinc Finger Nucleases

Sigma Life Science launched the CompoZr Targeted Integration Kit - mRosa26, which can precisely and rapidly integrate transgenes into the mouse genome at the Rosa26 safe harbor locus. This kit follows the introduction of the CompoZr Targeted Integration Kit - AAVS1, for transgene integration in the human genome. more
