Update: Merck acquires Sigma Aldrich

For accepting Mercks proposed acquisition of Sigma Aldrich, the European Union demands the sale of the Sigma-Aldrich-branded solvents and inorganics business in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the Fluka-branded solvents and inorganics business worldwide. Merck now moves forward in the completion of the acquisition by selling the mentioned assets to Honeywell.

Merck wants to assure that nothing changes for customers. All remains business as usual and customers can continue to use the established contacts and ordering channels.

For up to one year, Merck will continue to distribute, on behalf of Honeywell, solvents and inorganics in the EEA, and Fluka, Hydranal, Chromasolv, Fixanal, Riedel-de-Haen and other related brands worldwide to guarantee a smooth transition for all customers throughout this process.
